Bob McEwen Congress: Principles vs. Pork
Q. Why should we care what happens in an Ohio Congressional election?
A. Because it’s our money Congress is spending. And it’s our freedoms that are at risk.
Each Congressional election impacts our lifestyle and economic future. Much of Congress’ time is spent either protecting or wasting our money. Congress impacts our personal financial freedom when they vote to raise taxes or vote to approve wasteful spending. We may be paying taxes in Georgia, Wisconsin, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Ohio, the Carolinas or New Jersey, but congressmen are spending our tax dollars in DC.
Every Congressional seat and vote matters. I didn’t always understand how politics works. Bob McEwen taught me. We’ve had the privilege of knowing Bob and Liz McEwen for over fourteen years. Bob is a man of proven principle.
Principles or Pork: The decision between candidates is often a decision for Principles or Pork. A “Pork Platform” means the candidate is focused on delivering special favors to special friends. They are delivering your tax dollars.
According to the 2005
Citizens Against Government Waste report, Congress spent more tax dollars on pork spending – pet projects requested by individual lawmakers for their districts – this year than in any other year in history at $27.3 billion. Last year's total rang up at $22.9 billion.
Bob represents a “Principles Platform”. Bob’s principles include a clear sense of right and wrong, limited government, and freedom. Because Bob McEwen operates from a foundation of strong principles, he will vote for things that increase economic freedom and encourage good government. He will influence and encourage other congressmen to make principled decisions.
