The longer an organization has gone without major change, the harder it is for them to make changes. Without regular exercise, our change muscles aren’t fit, strong and ready to respond positively.
Without regular practice, change doesn't resides a group's muscle memory.
When change is required, your organization’s key influences meed tp be the first ones exercising their change muscles. They are the chage bucket brigade.
All leaders walk through life with a bucket in each hand. One bucket contains water and the other contains gasoline. When ever there is a ‘little fire’ of contention in the organization – – the key influencers are usually the first to hear about it.
GAS - If the influencer arrives at the scene of a small fire wth a bucket of gasoline, the results may be a major fire.
WATER - If the influencer arrives at the scene with a bucket of water, the problem may be extinguished.
LEADERSHIP LESSON - Bring more water.
